Sten A Olsson starts trading in steel, iron, scrap metal and metal products
 (the basis for the current Stena Metall)​

​1946 First cargo vessel in operation
1962​ First ferry route to Denmark. Skagen route established
1963​ Stena Line founded and Stena's characteristic logo born
1967​ Ferry traffic expands with Göteborg-Kiel route
1972​ The terminal at Masthuggskajen is completed
The business is divided into three: Shipping, Ferry lines and Scrap metal
1976​ First offshore vessel delivered
1977​ Eleven RoRo vessels delivered from South Korea
1980​ Merger between Stena Line and Sessanlinjen
1981​ Stena Fastigheter founded
1982​ Stena Bulk founded
1983​ In-house management company, Northern Marine Management,
 founded in Glasgow
1984​ First drilling rig delivered. Concordia Maritime founded
1988​ Stena Line listed on stock exchange
1989​ Sealink acquired
1994​ Merger between Stena Offshore and Coflexip
1995​ Stena Drilling acquires Atlantic Drilling
2000​ Holding sold in Coflexip
2001​ Stena Line becomes wholly-owned
2002​ Stena Adactum founded
2003​ Stena Fastigheter acquires Drott
2005​ Stena DrillMAX I ordered
2006​ Stena Long Term Equity founded
2007​ Stena Renewable founded
​2008 Adactum consolidates Envac, Ballingslöv and Blomsterlandet
​2009 Third DrillMAX delivered. First Suezmax tanker ordered.
