The Offshore Drilling business area consists of Stena Drilling Ltd. The company has around 650 employees and the head office is in Aberdeen, Scotland. The marketing department is in Houston, USA, and in addition there are a number of satellite offices that can be set up anywhere in the world to support offshore and drilling projects in progress.

International activities

Stena Drilling owns and runs an international drilling operation based on know-how from projects in a large part of the world: the North Sea, South East Asia, the Mediterranean, the Caribbean, South America, North Africa, the Gulf of Mexico, Australia and West Africa. The Stena DrillMAX can operate at up to 3 000 meters ("ultradeep") and drill highly effectively down to 10 000 meters.

The Stena DrillMAX’s capacity makes it a real world-class rig, suitable for international operations in the widest sense of the word. The ship can operate in both calm and demanding environments and can quickly travel between projects at a speed of 12 knots. Flexibility and speed mean major time and cost savings.
