Business at
the Stena AB Group is by its very nature
capital-intensive. Stena Finance is responsible for capital procurement
in both the short and long term. This includes the Group’s liquidity management, risk handling, responsibility for financial monitoring and financial reporting.
Stena Finance lies within the Stena AB Group and consists of Stena
Finance and Stena Long Term Equity. The business is run from offices in
Göteborg, Zug, Amsterdam, Luxembourg and Singapore.
Advisor to the operating units
Stena Finance acts as an advisor to the operating units in connection
with identifying, analysing and carrying out new deals. The business
area has the competence needed to carry out projects from start to
finish. A majority of assignments are connected with developing
long-term financial solutions. Among major projects in recent years,
several have been connected with various newbuilds within the business
areas shipping and offshore drilling.
Own staff for global monitoring
To be able to support the operating units and contribute to new
business requires access to good decision data. Staff within Stena
Finance perform comprehensive global monitoring. Assignments include
taking a holistic view when analysing both the macroeconomic position
and individual companies and shares. The aim is to identify key events
at an early stage and then pinpoint attractive markets and shares to
invest in.
Trading in securities
A part of the Group's liquidity is used for investing in listed and
unlisted companies, currency, interest rates and other financial
instruments. Investment activities have, over time, become an important
part of the combined business activities.
