Investing over the long-term in listed and unlisted companies
Stena Adactum is Stena AB’s investment company, mainly investing over the long-term in companies where the Adactum business area can take an active ownership role and contribute financial strength. The active ownership is mainly carried out through ensuring that the respective companies are managed properly and by supporting strategies in order to achieve sustainable growth.
The Stena Adactum business area lies within the Stena AB Group and the business is run from the office in Göteborg.
New business area platforms
The Adactum business area’s main objective is to create platforms for future business areas at Stena AB. Another major objective is to invest in smaller and mid-sized listed companies with good expansion opportunities. Through Stena Adactum’s listed investments Stena AB has a significant involvement in physical security, kitchen and bathroom fittings, self-care products and fasteners and lifting products.
Carefully selected companies with long-term potential
The investment strategy is to acquire carefully selected companies with good, long-term profit growth potential. The companies should be reasonably priced, characterised by good business acumen and have well-established organisations with working processes. Sweden should be the centre for the business but the companies should also have international business activities. Investments are primarily in wholly-owned, unlisted companies or through significant ownership in listed companies.
As an unlisted investment company, without any intention of selling the actual companies, the Adactum business area can act over the long-term in order to build up strength and profitability. The key words here are ownership and financial strength. Active ownership means that Adactum can safeguard a skilled management group and board of directors, define strategies for profitable growth and set clear objectives with continual follow-ups. The Adactum business area’s financial strength can also be used to carry out additional acquisitions and expansion investments in investment companies.
